Where did Lyssé come from?
In French, lissé means smoothed, which is exactly what our patented waistband does! Lyssé began as a bottoms brand that prided itself on smoothing, flattering comfort which is still a core pillar of our brand today.
2009
It starts with Beth Gold Cohen, a woman who understood the ever-changing body of a woman and the importance of comfort. She sat at her sewing machine and sewed a hidden waistband into her own pants that was not only comfortable, but flattering. And Lyssé New York was born.
2010
Lyssé sparked interest across the country and entered into hundreds of boutiques and department stores throughout the nation. Today, we’re in over 1,200 boutiques and department stores!
2013
Lyssé launched the first shoppable website making all collections available to the public. The website has been a key component in offering a convenient shopping solution & delivering a delightful experience to our dear customers.
2014
Lyssé expands into our first ready-to-wear collection to include dresses, pants, skirts and tops.
2015
The patent for Lyssé’s concealed smoothing waistband was approved, making us one of the few in the fashion industry space to have one!
